NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that due to the resignation of Cllr J Haigh, a vacancy has arisen in the Office of Councillor for the Village Council.
If by 24 September, 2020 (14 days excluding Dies Non, after the date of this notice) a request for an election to fill the said vacancy is made in writing to the Returning Officer at the address below by TEN electors for the said Village Council, an election will be held to fill the said vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option.
If an election is called, then under the provisions of the Coronavirus Act 2020 and The Local Government and Police and Crime Commissioner (Coronavirus)(Postponement of Elections and Referendums)(England and Wales) Regulations 2020, the by-election will be scheduled to take place on Thursday 6 May 2021. However, this date may be brought forward or deferred by the Government depending upon the circumstances. The vacancy will be held open until the by-election can be held. Any election that is in due course called will be duly publicised as required by law.
